AFA not enough to sate your burning anime-fan hearts? Hungry for more conventions? Well, read on to find out about the biggest anime convention in December this year – EOY 2012!
But first, a message from the Festival Producer, Vincent Sin:

“I am very happy to be given the chance to plan EOY’s Cosplay Festival. As producer of this event, I plan to re-shape the boundaries of a Cosplay Event. EOY Cosplay Festival will be full of surprises, with a variety of activities made just to suit Cosplayers’ needs and wants. Today’s announcement gives just a first taste of unique activities planned for EOY Cosplay Festival. There is definitely more to EOY Cosplay Festival this year, making it Not Just Another Cosplay Event.

This year will be our busiest and most engaging year, and we are looking for more volunteers to join our EOY party. Do look out for our recruitment drive.”

Why does he sound so excited? I’m sure I wouldn’t understand, but here’s a possible reason. While the event was held at Republic Polytechnic (which happens to be conveniently near where I live,) this year’s event is held at the Marina Barrage…

…and admission is completely free. Woah, woah, woah, what!? Just look at that beauty! That sure escalated quickly. The number of people going will be over 9000! And other lame memes here. You get the drift, though. The theme this year is ‘MMORPG’. Everyone is a player- wait that came out wrong. Let the official description explain it better:

EOY 2012 Cosplay Festival is held against a backdrop of an original folk story, set in a small town called EOY. EOY is a peaceful but lively town, with a buzzing market place that houses many talented folks who love to perform, dance, sing, and create art.

But mysterious evil forces plan to destroy the peace and take over the town. They have declared war on the town folks and are making their advances.

Yume, a brave young girl has rallied the town folks to defend their homeland. But more bravehearts are needed to keep the evil forces at bay. The showdown starts 9th December at the Marina Barrage, where champions and heroes are invited to gather and battle it out with the forces of evil.

I don’t know about you, but I sure am excited to try out this real-life MMORPG!
