Valence’s pledge to stop having anything to do with Ecchi.

In Ochinko episode 2, Shuusuke vows to stop watching porn after his childhood friend came back, saying how he had been living his life foolishly, and how the girls will think they are perverts.

Guess who’s come to the same realization?

In Singapore, we have any movie with the slightest bit of sexual tension labelled at least NC-16. And that’s what I’ve decided to do: stop watching anything ecchi until I reach that sweet number. Why? This is my last year in an all-male school ; I’ve got to learn to watch it, I don’t want to be labelled as a pervert in JC or anything. I want to make friends, I don’t want to be shunned. I’ve already have had little friends in secondary school, JC is the time to make amends. I must give the people the right impression, give off the right vibes, so I can have a good time in JC and whatever other endeavours I may partake in the future. It’s also good for my morals: I’ve been below the age of 16 for so long, but nudity and sexuality seem nothing new to me, one who has seen too much of it for his own good. It’s time to put a stop to this.

True, this task will be daunting, seeing as how shitloads of shows and comics these days contain ecchi content. But no matter, I am a man of my word, when I promise something, I make sure I do it. So here goes:

This is my pledge to stop reading /watching anything to do with Ecchi.

I, Valence, pledge to :

-uphold the purity of human relationships

-immediately stop watching the shows below:

  • Rio: Rainbow Gate
  • Oniichan no Koto Nanka Zenzen Suki Janain Dakara Ne
  • Yumekui Merry
  • Sono Hanabira
  • Asobi ni Iku Yo!
  • et cetera.

immediately stop reading the below manga:

  • Lotte no Omocha
  • Kodomo no Jikan
  • Seikon no Qwaser
  • Sora no Otoshimono
  • Doujinshi manga of any character in a sexual situation
  • Any hentai at all.
  • Et cetera

-watch only one awesome show per season and nothing else, with this season being Madoka Magica. (To prevent all instances of ecchi ever appearing)

-To preach to ecchi-watchers to get them to stop watching, with the list including numerous bloggers , too long to list here.

-To cut off contact with all sexual situations or portrayals in real life, including any Hollywood movie /show that fails the Bechdel test.

All of this is to stand until midnight of the day I turn 16, Singapore Time. The day I turn 16 shall be the day I break this pledge.

Wish me luck, guys. I’m not sure how long I can uphold this pledge, but if I break this pledge before that day, I’ll tell you guys.

Once again, wish me luck. Peace.

~Valence

so you say…besides even if one does not watch anything ecchi related, it still does not mean one is not a pervert…most perverts in our country end up being one due to sexual desires…not because of some show which show sexual contents…and anyways its less than a year…there is no need to vow…a leopard cannot change its spots…nor can one force himself to become another…return to the dark side!

  4. Ruby says:

And, hey, that’s a nice challenge. I should recommend it to some of my 16 year old friends. They’ve started to take interest in bishoujo games recently, and I have to stop them until the reach 18.
