Fuwa Fuwa Time.
Literally, translate every syllable into a Chinese word and you get ‘福娃福娃蛋’. Sounds close in pronunciation too…
I had to go and listen to it again, and found myself (egads!) liking it.
Liking something coming from that pile of moeblob.
And then I realised an uncomfortable truth. My reasons for disliking something are not suffice ; thus proving I don’t hate the thing completely. All this while I’ve been bashing K-On , until I realised that simply by posting about it I had fallen into the deepest, darkest depths of animewatcherdom.
One of the reasons I disliked K-On is that its fanbase disturbed me completely. How someone can enjoy K-On so much was beyond it ; much like my growing curiosity to what makes Nanoha so damn nice that people have to buy tons of Fate and Nanoha or something like that. I hadn’t watched that yet, will watch it to see why people like it, I suppose.
However, that’s not a valid reason. I’m disgusted at some of the fans of my favourite shows too, especially those who crossdress (badly) as female characters (that I like) and burn my eyes. That didn’t make me drop my favourite shows from my preferences, did it? So one line of defence, down.
No plot nor development? Flimsy excuse – you know that it’s clearly slice-of-life.
Moe? What’s not moe nowadays?
Darn, down to last line of defence. Boring. And that’s already half down too, with myself contradicting this point , I suppose. I have no solid case in proving my point. So I now declare myself neutral towards K-On, if that matters anyway.
