A.C.M.E and the rape of my wallet

I know that I haven’t posted here in ages. In fact, nobody has posted actual contet on Otaku Panorama in a long time either. That’s simply because 4/5 of us are 16 and guess what, exams are more of a bitch than an ant bite on the penis. HOWEVER, 3 of us have found time in our pseudo post-exam pre-”O” levels period to head down to a little anime convention today. So here’s a bit of an update and for me to divulge some opinions
Today, Selcouth, SleepyNoYume and I went down to A..C.M.E to meet some Twitter friends and to enjoy our time after a gruelling 2 week long Preliminary Exam. A.C.M.E is an abbreviation for A Certain Magical Event (No prizes for the original inspiration for the name but you might get a cookie!) and unlike AFA, it’s really, really small, which is both good and bad.
Sad Post Series – Instalment 1, Dark Doujins and that Bittersweet love-affair
I suppose first of all, I have to explain the title of this post so as to clear up the confusion that’s no doubt present.
This is the start of a series of posts by me, CyborgCommunist, on dark topics, gleamed from various anime or manga. These post generally about rather depressing topics hence the name, the Sad Post Series. An underwhelming name but hey, I’ve got to make it seem ridiculous enough to draw in readers.

As the first part of the series, this post would be about Dark Doujins, mostly of the Romance genre (be it Straight or Yuri). And it’s “dark” as in having macabre/depressing topics albeit many of the manga/oneshots/doujin (oh yeah, it’s all about the printed works) have a silver lining in their plot. So by dark I’m not referring to depraved hentai doujins. Just those with generally “sad” outlooks (Not meaning that Hentai won’t be mentioned though. I just might).
Exaggeration in Saki, and Why it Works

The Saki franchise is pretty much driven by two things: bone-chilling mahjong plays and adorable yuri moments (or moe for those of you who haven’t seen the light yet). For the purposes of this post, I will focus on the matter of mahjong and exaggeration.

Once again, this is another one of those post I have hoarded up for when I reach a dry spell. But this one could be pretty interesting (I hope).
The reason behind this post is simple enough. A couple of months back, I read a manga called GirlXGirlXBoy. I’m not sure if it’s popular or well-known but I definitely liked it. And a couple of weeks ago, another manga I was reading, Kimo Koi Limit, ended. And these two manga had one thing in common (well, two actually. They’re both generally Yuri). They both had a “third wheel” character that aided the progress of the main couple’s relationship. And I have always pitied this one poor person.

I was about to spend the entire post singing a thousand seven thousand praises to Nana Mizuki but apparently this episode was that bad that I have so much I wanted to talk about. In fact, I find it so bad that this is the most amazing and awesome anime I have watched in years. THAT BAD.
I have no idea what I’m writing about anymore, I enjoyed the episode a lot actually, despite how bad I think it is.
On a side note, you won’t be hearing from me in the coming weeks, mainly due to my GCE O level results releasing tomorrow afternoon. In fact I’m only writing this because I can’t sleep… Dammit, Valence didn’t need to take it and CyborgCommunist is preparing for this year’s exams…
