Azure’s 1 month (and counting) anime abstinence

Its one of those status update “I’m still alive but not quite alive” posts again. I’ll try to make this relevant. Try.

Back when I was still in the peak of my love for all things anime and manga (which would be way back in 2008), I completely couldn’t imagine not watching anime at least once per week. Its like some addiction: I would be restless for the entire day, humming some silly anime OP under my breath until I reach home and immediately plant myself in front of the PC where I stay rooted to for hours: waiting for the subbed video to finish loading then hungrily absorbing the 25 minute (give or take) long show before vomiting my insignificant thoughts, complaints, likes and dislikes all over the internet.

Those were really good times…

But right now, the situation is sort of like this:

Shameless self promotion, as always.

I never thought I’d stop watching anime. As Justin Bieber says: “Never say never.”

Before anyone thinks I’m saying my farewell or anything like that, I’m not. I’m just taking a well deserved break as I try to find a life elsewhere. Try as I might.

Senki Zesshou Symphogear: Yuri, evil aliens and terribad animation

This series is as gay as Black Rock Shooter, has as terrible animation as Madoka Magica and as badly written as Guilty Crown…

The following post is when I throw a tantrum at Symphogear, in an attempt to get rid of my writer’s block… Saying that makes it sound like I’m an actual writer…

Meduka Quality / Ahem, what is up with that pose.

I was watching this scene and mentally making some “Get a room already.” comment before I remembered “OH, right, they sleep in the same bunk on the same bed in the same room.”. And then I proceeded to re read whatever I wrote about the first episode in case I forgot anything else…

12 Hours of Anime (Complete ver.)

*thrashes the old post*

I was supposed to write a “12 hours of anime” on Christmas itself but I spent too much time doing irrelevant things (like drawing the above, playing Sengoku Basara and sleeping) thus, post is postphoned until I get back home from celebrating X’mas. Which should be in approximately 12 hours; perfect for the post eh?

Meanwhile, wishing all a Merry Xmas and if you guys are reading this, please do go out, get a life and stop being a recluse at home.

Post after the page break~

Twitter Length Disorientated Reaction to 24 episodes of Mawaru Penguindrum

It wouldn't make any difference even if I watched all 24 episodes with a bra over my eyes because I still have no idea what happened.

“WTF was that, I had no idea what happened and what this has to do with penguins but it was FABULOUS MAX”

103 Characters.

Or even shorter:

“?”

001Character.

To be generic… or generic?

Generic fanart I picked off Danbooru by clicking the first nice picture on the page. Pixiv ID 5432

Valen has written up a post before about the ‘genericity’ of an anime, and eventually came to the conclusion that every show will be generic to a certain extent. Yumeka from AnimeYume later came to the conclusion that generic shows can still be enjoyable. All well and dandy, yes, but today I offer you a further extension.

All anime is generic. That’s right, you read that right.

Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakamatachi 08 – Of brides, lolis and subtle homosexuality

He speaks the truth. For the most part, anyway.

Yeah, right now Ookami-san is the only show I’m up-to-date with. I’ll marathon the other series when I get the time, so I can blog about them, but for now I digress.

One of my little peeves with K-On!!

There never seems to be any Ritsu-ccentric episodes at all, save for the one where she goes around trying out the other instruments. I mean, she’s the ‘leader’ after all, perhaps they could have actually made another episode regarding her, instead of focusing purely on the 3 Favourites?

That said, I still don’t mind Azusa getting another episode. You go, yeah?

Goddamned writer’s block.
