Continuing from yesterday’s post, I attempted to brush aside my lack of actual anime articles with excuses about other preoccupations preventing me from writing more often. However, ironically enough, one of these preoccupations appears to be my newfound love for manga – and a specific genre of it.
“If something’s not real, it’s not real!”
Time for me to write a filler post under the pretense of posting rants about anime fans~
*thrashes the old post*
I was supposed to write a “12 hours of anime” on Christmas itself but I spent too much time doing irrelevant things (like drawing the above, playing Sengoku Basara and sleeping) thus, post is postphoned until I get back home from celebrating X’mas. Which should be in approximately 12 hours; perfect for the post eh? Meanwhile, wishing all a Merry Xmas and if you guys are reading this, please do go out, get a life and stop being a recluse at home.
Post after the page break~
In Ochinko episode 2, Shuusuke vows to stop watching porn after his childhood friend came back, saying how he had been living his life foolishly, and how the girls will think they are perverts.
Guess who’s come to the same realization?
Every time a show about ‘sisters’ comes out, you can almost immediately point out that it will involve incestuous themes at one point or another, usually with the sister , the younger sister taking the initiative. It’s never the older brother who tells the sister he loves her (it hardly ever happens), and even if it does happen the sister is in dominance. So I wondered : “Is the only purpose of a younger sister-type character sexual/incestuous?”
Valen has written up a post before about the ‘genericity’ of an anime, and eventually came to the conclusion that every show will be generic to a certain extent. Yumeka from AnimeYume later came to the conclusion that generic shows can still be enjoyable. All well and dandy, yes, but today I offer you a further extension.
All anime is generic. That’s right, you read that right.
